  2. 4-H Season is Underway for 2018

    4-H Season has begun in Sandusky County.   Enrollment is due Monday April 2nd.  Please contact the Extension Office or your club advisor for additional information or select the 4-H Youth Development link on the left for access to our online resources.   3. 2017 4-H Volunteer Training

  5. Participants needed in a Gardening and Youth Study

    Are you interested in food and gardening? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a gardening & nutrition study.  Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University are studying health and picking fruits and vegetables at a local farm.  Adolescents and their caregivers will receive FREE fresh fruits, vegetables, and education for 3 months during the summer.

  6. OSU Vegetable Workshop Series

    OSU Extension, Sandusky County along with North Central Agricultural Research Station will be hosting a Vegetable Workshop Series, the 2nd Thursday of each month: April - October.  The workshop will begin at 7:00am with a catered breakfast and industry updates, followed with a featured guest speaker and ending with a field walk and networking. The events will be held at the NCARS office. No RSVP needed and no cost to attend. Please see attached flyer for more details.

  7. Farm Business Transition Workshop

    This two session workshop, which will be held April 6 and 13, 2016, is structured to help farm families develop a succession plan for their farm business.  Attend and learn ways to increase family communication and strategies to successfully transfer management skills and the farm’s business assets from one generation to the next.  This workshop will challenge farm families to actively plan for the future of the farm business.  There will be work and conversations that should take place between the two sessions that will help move the farm forward in the process of farm transition and...

  8. Ohio Pipeline Meeting Notice

    The effects of Ohio’s unprecedented oil and gas boom will be seen far beyond the 1,600 horizontal wells now dotting the landscape in eastern Ohio.  Authorities say the pipelines that will crisscross the state and other new infrastructure required to make use of the state’s newfound energy riches will likely have a presence in every county in the Buckeye State.  In addition, solar, wind and other alternative sources of energy have become a strong presence in some parts of the state in recent years.

  9. Thank You Communities Foundation

    We would like to thank the Sandusky County Communities Foundation for their funds and support of the Cooking Matters program that will begin to take shape over the coming months. We appreciate your support of Ohio State University Extension programs!
    Cooking Matters is a six lesson program that teaches low income individuals cooking skills, basic nutrition, and low cost shopping skills. Look for more information in the coming months.

  10. Pressure Canner Testing Day
