    We would like to thank the Sandusky County Communities Foundation for their funds and support of the Cooking Matters program that will begin to take shape over the coming months. We appreciate your support of Ohio State University Extension programs!
    Cooking Matters is a six lesson program that teaches low income individuals cooking skills, basic nutrition, and low cost shopping skills. Look for more information in the coming months.

  2. Pressure Canner Testing Day

    Need to have your pressure canner gauge tested? We can do that! The first drop in date for canner testing is Tuesday August 11th from 9-12. There is a cost of $5 per lid tested.  Please contact the office for more information, or email Katie LaPlant at laplant.8@osu.edu. Can't make the date?

  5. Food Preservation Workshop

    Join Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Educator Katie LaPlant for a Food Preservation Workshop. The workshop will be held on Wednesday July 29th from 6-8pm at the Sandusky County Health Department conference room. This is a FREE event for those who are new to preservation or who want a refresher. Registration is not required, but appreciated.   7. Teen Tractor Safety Training and Certification Course

    OSU Extension, along with the Clyde High School Vocational Agriculture program will be offering a tractor safety training and certification course this summer, at the Ohio State University’s North Central Agricultural Research Station on 53 just south of Fremont.  The course will take place June 8, 9 and 10 from 8 a.m. to noon, with additional independent study hours for the students on the first two days.

  9. Conversations on the Future of Extension

    Celebrating the significant accomplishments and deep impact that OSU Extension has had on communities and in the lives of Ohioans provides a great springboard for the future. A significant component of Ohio’s celebration in 2014 will be a year-long process focused on our future. The primary work this year will center on futuring – asking questions about and envisioning the long-term future of OSU Extension as well as the role the organization should play in shaping and positively impacting Ohio and Ohio residents.

  10. Farm Science Review to be held September 16-18

    The Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London, Ohio is home to the Farm Science Review (FSR), which attracts more than 140,000 visitors from all over the United States and Canada, who come for three days to peruse 4,000 product lines from 600 commercial exhibitors and learn the latest in agricultural production. The educational programs feature Ohio State and Purdue specialists and are second to none in the agricultural exhibition world.
